POLL: Who would be Kamala Harris’ running mate if she becomes next Democratic nominee?
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — With the announcement of President Biden’s departure from the 2024 presidential race, questions are swarming— Who is the next Democratic nominee?
Many signs point to current Vice President Kamala Harris, as Biden endorsed her on the same afternoon of his announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter.
POLL: Who do you think will be the new Democratic nominee?
“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” Biden wrote on X.
If Harris does decide to run as a Democratic nominee, several names have been floated, including Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
There has not been an official announcement on what Harris will decide to do.
The Democratic National Convention is scheduled to be held Aug. 19-22 in Chicago.
