A new poll on the Republican governor's race is out. Here's what it says.
A new poll shows Indiana U.S. Sen. Mike Braun continues to maintain a significant lead over his opponents in the Republican primary for governor with under a month to go until Election Day.
The poll from media outlets State Affairs and Howey Politics Indiana reflects that 44% of likely Republican primary voters would vote for Braun and 10% would vote for Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, his closest competitor according to the survey.
About 8% each said they would support former Indiana Economic Development Corp. heads Brad Chambers and Eric Doden while 2% each voiced support for former Attorney General Curtis Hill and Indianapolis mother Jamie Reitenour. About 26% of those surveyed were still undecided.
Who is Mike Braun?: Braun is leading the race for governor. But is his record a liability or benefit?
The online poll conducted by SurveyUSA has a margin of error of 4.47%. The company surveyed 700 registered Hoosiers voters between April 4 and 7 who were likely to vote in the Republican primary.
Braun has continued to lead the Republicans in the gubernatorial primary, despite attacks from his opponents. An Emerson College Polling/The Hill survey in early March also showed Braun ahead of the pack.
Early voting began Tuesday. The primary election is May 7.
