Popular tailgating spot in Cleveland shut down
CLEVELAND (WJW) – In Cleveland’s Warehouse District, popular West 6th Street tailgating events have been shut down over concerns about crime, at least for the remainder of this season.
Several business and property owners in the neighborhood have expressed concerns about violent incidents breaking out surrounding the tailgating events.

Organizers said they plan on doing everything in their power to find a suitable spot to bring the party back next season.
A spokesperson with the city said officials have been monitoring the situation.
In a statement, the city said, its obligation is public safety above all else.

“Unfortunately, the lawless behavior continued and the decision was made to not issue permits for the tailgate going forward this year. The city has an obligation to prioritize public safety above everything else. We have seen extraordinary decreases in homicides and overall violent crime and want to ensure that we’re taking deliberate actions to make certain those positive trends continue.”
