Portland Fire responds to RV blaze north of Linnton

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland Fire and Rescue responded to an RV fire just north of Linnton, a few miles outside city limits, after the flames extended to nearby vegetation, a power pole and a tractor-trailer, officials said.

PF&R said in a post on X at 3:43 p.m. that crews were on the scene of the fire. At one point, firefighters deployed an aerial ladder pipe.

A few minutes after the initial post, PF&R released an update saying they were making good progress on extinguishing the flames. Eventually, they were able to put out the fire completely.

Can you break into someone’s car if a child or pet is in danger during the heatwave?

Portland Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief James Klum told KOIN 6 News the forecasted heat dome projected to settle over Portland later this week is a good reminder for people to be extra cautious.

“The main thing is to realize that during this heat wave, there’s more chance for a fire to expand rapidly so it’s very due diligent to be safe and making sure you cover all your bases so you don’t have something like this occur,” he said.

No injuries were reported with the fire.

This is a developing story. KOIN 6 News will update this article if more information becomes available.
