Portland’s revered Ox Restaurant recovering from fire
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Ox Restaurant in Northeast Portland is recovering from a fire that reportedly happened in the grill area and extended all the way to the roof of the building.
According to Portland Fire and Rescue, via a post on X, fire crews were already finishing up the call before 7 p.m. Wednesday night, having extinguished the flames.

Officials said the fire started in the flue, a duct for dissipating smoke above the grill, and “extended into the roof structure.”
In order to put out the flames, crews had to “cut into the roof to gain access,” PF&R said.
The Ox is a revered steakhouse located at 2225 Ne Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
