A Presque Isle shuttle is one of several EMTA bus schedule changes for summer

The Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority has announced a number of bus route changes scheduled to take effect on Saturday.

The region’s largest transit agency is also bringing back the Presque Isle Express shuttle service to Presque Isle State Park, starting on June 12.

EMTA first launched the Presque Isle shuttle service in June 2017; the shuttle makes multiple stops. Signs mark each of the stops, as they do on EMTA’s other routes.

What are the EMTA route changes?

According to EMTA spokeswoman Sarah Morrison, the affected bus routes are:

  • Routes 17 (Briggs Avenue/Mercyhurst University), 18 (Penn State Behrend), 19 (Gannon University) and the PennWest Edinboro Express will cease operations for the summer;

  • The Route 20 (Downtown Loop) will see weekday time adjustments, primarily with afternoon trips;

  • Routes 21 (Lawrence Park) and 28 (Erie Heights) will see weekday times added/adjusted;

  • Route 25 (Wesleyville)  and 30 (West Millcreek) will see weekday time additions/adjustments.

Presque Isle Express details

The Route 33 Presque Isle Express will return on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting June 12 and continuing through Aug. 21.

The route starts at East Seventh and French streets and includes inbound/outbound stops at East 10th and French streets; West Seventh and Peach streets; Liberty Park; the West Erie Plaza; the Tom Ridge Environmental Center; Beach 11; Waterworks Beach; and Lighthouse Beach.
