The name of state Rep. Ryan Bizzarro, D-Erie, will be on the ballot just once this November.

Bizzarro lost the primary for Pennsylvania treasurer to fellow Democrat Erin McClelland. He'll still need to defend his seat in the state House of Representatives.

The Republican nominee in this race is Micah Goring.

Bizzarro has won each of his past two races in Pennsylvania's 3rd Legislative District by more than 20 points. He serves on the state House's Rules Committee and is the Democrat Policy Committee Chair.

Issues:

  • Following the 2023 toxic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, Bizzarro chaired a committee to examine rail safety and later helped to pass a bipartisan House bill to address those concerns.

  • Bizzarro has also introduced legislation that would allow for same-day voter registration in Pennsylvania, which could increase election turnout.

Micah Goring (R)

Goring is a U.S. Air Force veteran and small business owner.

Issues:

  • On his website, Goring said he's committed to fixing infrastructure, such as flood prevention investments.

  • Goring also states that he's focused on easing Pennsylvanians' property tax burden.
