U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-Pa., has won his past two reelection bids comfortably. Democrat Preston Nouri has different plans for 2024.

Kelly and Nouri will face off this November in Pennsylvania's 16th Congressional District.

A University of Notre Dame graduate and member of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, the 76-year-old Kelly is a staunch conservative and ally of former President Donald Trump. His family's auto dealerships employ more than 100 people in western Pennsylvania.

Issues:

  • Kelly has advocated for a diversity of energy use in America, including wind, solar, coal, nuclear and natural gas.

  • He's also a supporter of career and technical education programs as alternatives to traditional colleges.

Nouri is young small business owner and graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

Issues:

  • Campaign finance reform aimed at reducing the influence of special interests is among Nouri's stated priorities.

  • Nouri has pledged to help protect abortion rights.
