Pro-Palestinian protesters march to United Center on last day of DNC
CHICAGO — On the final night of the Democratic National Convention, a final opportunity played out for Pro-Palestinian protestors in front of a global audience.
Thousands of Pro-Palestinian protestors brought their call for an end to the United States’ aid to Israel within view of the United Center, where Vice President Kamala Harris accepted the Democratic nomination for president.
Dozens of groups came together to form the coalition that marched on the United Center Thursday, the Chicago Coalition for Justice in Palestine (CCJP) and members of the Chicago Teachers Union among them — But just like a day prior, the protest remained predominantly peaceful.
The only incident of note played out as the crowd of protestors swelled at Union Park ahead of the march. A single confrontation unfolded between coalition and agitators, where protestors from the rally surrounded them and started chanting, “Racists go home.”
The confrontation spilled briefly into a nearby street before Chicago police dispersed the incident.
According to a CPD spokesperson, no arrests have been reported from that confrontation, or the ongoing march that lasted into the evening hours, as of 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Around the same time as the confrontation was dispersed by police, former Republican candidate for president, Vivek Ramaswamy, also made an appearance at Union Park before the march.

Ramaswamy could be seen intermingling and having conversations with protestors in the crowd, and told assembled media what the protestors are fighting for, is what Democrats in power stand in the way of.
The march stepped off from Union Park around 6:30 p.m. CT.
