Propane leak the likely cause of a home explosion in Waupaca County

LIND, Wisconsin (WFRV) – Authorities in Waupaca County say they believe a propane leak is to blame for an explosion inside a home Tuesday night.

According to a release from the Weyauwega Fire Department, firefighters responded at 10:17 p.m. for reports of an explosion inside a home on E4451 County Road EE in the town of Lind.

Officials say there was no fire but the walls and windows of the home were all blown out leaving the home unstable.

Four people were reportedly sleeping inside the home at the time of the explosion but were able to make it out of the house without being hurt.

Firefighters say they believe there was a propane leak inside the home that ignited and then caused the explosion.

No additional details are available at this time and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
