Protestors ordered to pay fine
As part of their guilty plea, the nine protesters will pool their money to pay $1,000 for stadium repairs. They also agreed to pay the associated court fees, which will add an additional estimated $100 for each person charged.
The plea deals also confirmed that protesters were advocating for "the liberation of Palestine" and gathered "to protest the University of Iowa’s partnerships with weapons manufacturers who are aiding in the slaughter of Palestinians."
The protesters were initially charged with trespassing causing injury or damage, interference with official acts, and disorderly conduct.
