Beyoncé has long allowed Kamala Harris to use her song “Freedom” song for the Vice President’s campaign soundtrack, but now Queen Bey is hitting the stage in person as the close race for the White House race goes into its final days.

A source close to the campaign confirms to Deadline that the 32-time Grammy-winning superstar will appear with the VP on Friday in Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston.

In a true show of Texas hold ’em, Harris and Beyoncé will be joined by Willie Nelson at the event, which could also provide a Lone Star State boost to Rep. Colin Allred’s burgeoning bid to boot incumbent Ted Cruz out of the Senate. Throwing some shade on the VP’s rival, the very high profile Beyoncé event will also occur on the same day that Donald Trump is set to be in Austin to tape an episode of Joe Rogan’s incredibly popular podcast

In the closing sprint, Harris’ campaign is bringing some real life rock’n’roll, hip hop and country to the campaign; Eminem introduced former POTUS Barack Obama at a rally earlier this week in Detroit and a big Bruce Springsteen show scheduled in Atlanta tonight. In early September, just minutes after the one debate between Harris and Trump ended, Taylor Swift made public her endorsement of the VP — to the annoyance of the former Celebrity Apprentice host.

Back in August there were a flurry of rumors that Beyoncé would be the surprise guest on the last day of the Democratic National Convention. Emceed by Kerry Washington, the fourth and final night of the 2024 DNC featured The Chicks, who sang the national anthem, and Pink, who performed her 2017 single “What About Us” with her and Carey Hart’s 13-year-old daughter Willow Sage.

Even as party insiders told Deadline that there was no way Queen Bey would show up in Chicago and risk overshadowing the Vice President’s speech, media speculation of an appearance went into overdrive — with more than a few outlets having egg on their page when Beyoncé was a no-show.
