Queen Camilla Looks Visibly Emotional In Photos From Commemorative Event with King Charles

King Charles and Queen Camilla stepped out in Portsmouth, England this week to attend the U.K.'s national commemorative event marking the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings—and the event proved to be an emotional one for the royals.
Camilla, 76, was photographed with tears in her eyes, as she sat next to the king during the poignant occasion on Wednesday, June 5, which took place one day before the 80th anniversary of the event that would change the entire trajectory of World War II.
The memorial event marked the first of several events the royals are expected to attend in honor of the sacrifice made by troops on D-Day 80 years ago.

Camilla was dressed in an all-pink ensemble for the outing, accessorizing the regal look with white gloves, a floral hat and rows of pearls around her neck.
King Charles, 75, dressed in a suit adorned with military medals, spoke to the crowd during Wednesday's ceremony, addressing the veterans gathered at Southsea Common in Portsmouth. Prince William was also in attendance for the event, where he too delivered a speech.
"Today, we remember the bravery of those who crossed this sea to liberate Europe, those who ensured that Operation Overlord was a success and those who waited for their safe return," the Prince of Wales said during his touching speech.

William, Charles and Camilla are all expected to make appearances in Normandy, France to continue the commemorations, with the King and Queen scheduled to step out at the British Normandy Memorial at Ver-sur-Mer with the Ministry of Defence and the Royal British Legion on Thursday, June 6.
Meanwhile, William will attend the Canadian commemorative ceremony at the Juno Beach Centre, Courseulles-sur-Mer on Thursday, followed by the international commemorative ceremony at Omaha Beach in Saint Laurent sur Mer, where he will join over 25 heads of state as well as veterans from around the world.
