Queen Camilla Shares Sassy Update on King Charles’ Health

Queen Camilla is offering a bit of insight into King Charles III's health.

Her comments came as she attended a garden party at Lamb House in Rye, where she enjoyed a performance by Timothy West, 89, and Hayley Mills, 78, while sitting alongside actress Prunella Scales, 91. Charles, 75, was not present for the event as he had prior obligations.

During the Thursday, May 16, event, Camilla revealed that Charles is "getting better" amid treatment for an unspecified type of cancer he was diagnosed with earlier this year.

"Well, he would be if he behaved himself," the queen, 76, sassily added, per a report from Hello! Magazine.

Cheekiness aside, the royal couple has had quite the history-making year, which couldn't have been achieved without the willingness to step on a few toes.

On Wednesday, May 15, the royal couple hosted Buckingham Palace's first-ever Sovereign's Creative Industries Garden Party. The sun-soaked affair went off without a hitch just two days after Charles offered a rare glimpse into his ongoing cancer treatment.

While visiting the Army Flying Museum in Middle Wallop, Hampshire, to officially hand over one of his military titles to Prince William on Monday, the king described a rather unpleasant experience he's reportedly had to overcome, which he's credited as nothing more than a side effect from treatment of the disease.

During his royal outing earlier this week, Charles explained he'd lost his sense of taste. The king declined to clarify whether or not experts have told him to expect this to be a temporary issue or something that could become permanent.

Still, he hasn't let that stop him from resuming his royal duties after taking some time off to assess his diagnosis, as he was photographed visiting cancer patients and medical staff at the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre in London alongside his wife on April 30.

His break from the throne didn't equate to a break from royal firsts as Charles made an unprecedented decision about Balmoral Castle in April, followed by a significant update to Sandringham Estate and the changing of a 50-year-old tradition.
