Wisconsin's partisan primary is Tuesday, the second-to-last time voters will head to the polls this year. Next up is the Nov. 5 election, which includes the presidential race and final candidates for Congress and the state Legislature.
Voting via absentee ballot exploded in popularity during the pandemic-era elections in 2020, and many voters continue to prefer casting absentee votes. At the same time, rules around absentee ballots have changed in Wisconsin, including a recent state Supreme Court ruling that reinstated the use of absentee ballot drop boxes.
