After a weekend of live music and unpredictable weather, CelebrateErie has come to its last day in downtown Erie.

The scattered showers didn’t stop people from enjoying all that CelebrateErie has to offer, from the local food vendors to the main stage.

“All of our vendors, our food vendors, our performers, besides the main stage acts of course, they are all local, so we want to show all of the great talent that we have here in Erie,” said Adrienne Nannen, City of Erie events manager.

She said the weekend has been a great success so far despite rain closing or delaying certain activities.

But rain or shine, the show goes on at CelebrateErie’s main stage.

Right now the stage is setting up for Gabby Barrett to perform Sunday night, but the crowd here was busy last night, with fans of Wheatus and Jimmy Eat World rocking out at CelebrateErie’s main stage.

Wheatus’s lead singer told the crowd that their hit song “Teenage Dirtbag” now belongs to them.

Jimmy Eat World rocked the stage after Wheatus, drawing a crowd that stretched all the way from 4th Street to Perry Square.

But at the festival’s living room stage, local artists got a chance to shine.

Erie singer-songwriter Anthony Carson said it’s a great feeling to bring his art to erie.

“I love performing, you know, it’s an emotional experience, it’s a spiritual experience for me, and getting to share things that I’ve spent a lot of hard time working on,” he said.

Carson played a 45-minute set on the living room stage, getting to share his experimental sound as people listened in.

For Carson and many other artists, CelebrateErie is a way to express themselves through art and share their talent with the community.
