This video has since surfaced on social media and sparked outrage amongst viewers. However, the Raytown School District assured parents and families that administrators and security officers immediately responded and de-escalated the altercation.
The school day continued with no further disruptions, the school district said.
According to Superintendent Dr. Penelope Martin-Knox, the incident does not align with the “values and practices” of students and staff. She said, “Our environments are established to be safe and orderly for students and staff alike and situations such as this will not be tolerated.”
“When matters like this arise, we take swift and appropriate action to bring resolution for all involved. As a result of this matter, the employee has been dismissed from the Raytown School District,” Martin-Knox said.
