Read the jury instructions in Donald Trump's New York criminal hush money trial

Judge Juan Merchan re-read a portion of his jury instructions in former President Donald Trump's criminal hush money trial Thursday morning.

Trump and some of his supporters have claimed that the instructions do not require a unanimous verdict. In order to convict, jury must reach a unanimous decision that Trump falsified business records to cover up another crime, but they don't have to all agree on whether the underlying crime was one of several options, including a campaign finance law violation and tax fraud.

Merchan read the portion – pages six through 35 – out loud at the request of the 12 jurors tasked with deciding Trump's fate in the trial.

Merchan first read aloud all 55 pages of the jury instructions to the jurors on Wednesday morning. They sent Merchan a note later that afternoon asking for a re-reading.

Jurors are continuing their deliberations in the case Thursday.

Trump is the first former U.S. president to face a criminal trial. He is also facing three other criminal cases that have not gone to trial.
