Ready? Recreational marijuana green light nearly here in Ohio
CLEVELAND (WJW) — On your mark, get set, dispense.
On Tuesday, dispensaries across the state of Ohio have the green light to start selling recreational green.
The rollout for marijuana sales has taken months to get figured out.
Can TSA stop you for marijuana in your luggage?
But by morning, the wait will be worth it to local sellers like Jimmie Dawson, whose Euclid shop Nectar expects to have large crowds gathered all week long.
“It’s a very big deal because it’s giving more people access to medicine that can help them,” added Dawson.
Just like purchasing of alcohol, you need to be 21 years of age with a valid state ID or driver’s license to buy cannabis.
Plus, there is a limit of what you can buy at a time.
“For non-medical patients, they can only buy a 10 day supply at a time. So, depending on how much THC is in the product, that determines the day of supply it is. So, if it’s 100 milligrams, that’s 1 day. If it’s 200 milligrams, that’s 2 days,” explained Dawson.
At Nectar and most other local dispensaries, medical patients will still have first dibs on their cannabis orders.
Can you buy recreational marijuana in Michigan and bring it back to Ohio?
But if you are looking to enjoy recreationally, don’t worry there’s plenty of product to go around for you too:
“It’s like the golden age of THC in Ohio right now,” said Dawson.
