Recalled edibles linked to 2 possible deaths, illnesses in 28 states
OHIO (WJW) – Health officials are now investigating a second death that could be linked to Diamond Shruumz, a brand of recalled microdosing mushroom-infused edibles.
The Food and Drug Administration issued the initial recall in June, which warned that those using Diamond Shruumz-brand Microdosing Chocolate Bar could be at risk of illness.

According to the FDA, 78 cases of illness were found in 28 states, with 65 of those cases seeking medical care and 40 being hospitalized.
According to the FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, two deaths that could be connected to the Diamond Shruumz products are currently under investigation
The FDA has now expanded its recall warning to include Diamond Shruumz Infused Cones, Micro-Dose, and Mega-Dose/Extreme Gummies. Those products were also recalled on June 28 by the manufacturer, Prophet Premium Blends of Santa Ana.
According to the FDA, some of the recalled products were still on store shelves as of July 29.
Risk level issued as part of ongoing coffee recall
According to the FDA, those who have gotten sick after eating the Diamond Shruumz-brand products have reported symptoms including seizures, central nervous system depression (loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness), agitation, abnormal heart rates, hyper/hypotension, nausea, and vomiting.

The FDA published a list of stores that are still selling Diamond Shruumz-brand products as of July 29.
“All Diamond Shruumz-brand products have been recalled and should not be sold. Consumers should not purchase any Diamond Shruumz-brand products. If you know of a retailer (online or in-person) continuing to sell recalled Diamond Shruumz-brand product, you can report this information to FDA,” the FDA said in an update on July 30.
