Record 67 tornado warnings issued on Monday after Beryl’s landfall in Texas

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Shreveport reported that their coverage area, which includes East Texas, saw a record number of tornado warnings on Monday.

NWS Shreveport said the weather events in the wake of tropical storm Beryl “are further proof that inland tropical impacts can also be quite extreme.”

Before Monday, the most tornado warnings in a day for the area was recorded on Dec. 27, 2015 with 36 tornado warnings.
