‘We are relentless in the pursuit of justice:’ Second suspect from 2023 shooting in Wisconsin arrested in Illinois

MONONA, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southern Wisconsin say a second suspect from a 2023 shooting has been taken into custody in Illinois.

According to a release, on Dec. 20, 2023, a 17-year-old victim was shot in the parking lot of a business located in the 6300 block of Monona Dr. in Monona.

An immediate investigation was launched by the Monona Police Department, which quickly identified the two suspects involved.

During a special operation on March 5, 2024, authorities arrested 27-year-old Trevon McDuffy of Chicago. McDuffy has since been charged with attempted first-degree homicide and more.

The second shooting suspect was believed to have fled Dane County. That individual, identified as Quentel Marshall, 20, of Madison, was recently arrested by the Loves Park, Illinois Police Department.

Marshall is being held at the Winnebago, Illinois, County Jail, awaiting potential extradition back to Dane County for the 2023 shooting.

“Do not commit violent acts here in Monona,” said Monona Police Chief Chaney. “We are relentless in the pursuit of justice. We will investigate, find you, and arrest you.”
