Repeat offender arrested on new child pornography charge
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Niagara County man was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor after a prior child pornography conviction from 2023, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Officials say 22-year-old Cameron Gelsomino of Burt was sentenced in October 2023 to 30 days in prison and 10 years probation for possessing obscene sexual performance by a child. He was designated as a level two sex offender.
Seven months later, on May 9, 2024, probation officers allegedly found a cell phone containing 56 image files and two video files of child pornography at Gelsomino’s residence during a routine check. It is alleged that texts were also found between him and another Discord user discussing ages and the cost of purchasing child pornography.
If convicted, Gelsomino faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of 20.
