Report: Hunter Biden's trials may include testimony from ex-wife about drugs; alimony

WASHINGTON - Presidential son Hunter Biden's upcoming criminal trials could include awkward details about another legal problem: A civil lawsuit claiming he owes his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle more than $1.7 million in unpaid alimony.

"Buhle is likely to testify about Hunter's drug use and finances in both of his upcoming trials over gun and tax charges, which will unfold in the final months of his father's campaign for re-election," reported Axios.

The son of President Joe Biden is scheduled to begin trial Monday in Delaware on federal gun charges; the tax case is scheduled to start Sept. 5 in California.

Republicans and other Biden opponents are playing up Hunter Biden's legal troubles, especially in light of the hush money conviction of former president and 2024 candidate Donald Trump.

As for the alimony case, Axios obtained court records showing that:

?"On Jan. 29, 2021 - just after President Biden's inauguration and following a year-and-a-half of legal jousting - a D.C. court found Hunter was in breach of his divorce agreement and owed Buhle more than $1.7 million in spousal support, legal fees and interest since their 2017 divorce."

?Hunter Biden's attorneys "argued he wanted to pay Buhle but no longer had the money after his spiral into drug addiction," Axios reported.
