Need to report illegal fireworks? This app can help and here’s how it works
(FOX40.COM) — As the Fourth of July holiday approaches, a Yolo County law enforcement agency is urging the public to use a mobile app to report illegal fireworks.
The Woodland Police Department said the public should use the mobile app “Nail ‘Em” if they see any activity related to illegal fireworks.

Police said the use of illegal fireworks “pose serious safety risks” and are subject to a $1,000 fine per device.
“Your vigilance helps keep our community safe!” police said on a Facebook post. “Let’s work together to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for everyone.”
How does the app work?
The Nail ‘Em app allows users to report the possession, sale and/or use of illegal fireworks. The app uses a GPS feature and a way to upload photos and videos.
According to the Apple App Store, reports will be automatically generated to local law enforcement and/or fire personnel.
Reports can be made anonymously and users can opt-in to receive notifications that’ll inform them if their complaint was acted upon.
