What is the Republican 2024 platform? (No, it's not Project 2025)
The Republican Party released its 2024 platform this week ahead of its convention in Milwaukee, listing 20 promises and policy positions that read like a collage of Donald Trump tweets, speeches and signature ‘America First’ rhetoric.
Addressed “To the Forgotten Men and Women of America,” the platform looks at how the four-day event will unfold, and signals the extent of the GOP’s wholehearted embrace of Trump’s MAGA Republicanism.

Printed in the former president’s all-caps style, the promises include typical Trump phrases like “STOP THE MIGRANT INVASION” and “SECURE OUR ELECTIONS,” along with culture war issues that have come to dominate GOP messaging. However, the platform skates over abortion, as Trump continues to side-step the issue that could be a critical motivator for swing or undecided voters.
The softened language has drawn criticism from some conservative lawmakers, including former Vice President Mike Pence, who called the platform a “profound disappointment” and part of a “broader retreat in our party” on the issue of abortion rights.
