Republican Scott Hutchinson is elected to 4th term as 21st Dist. state senator
Republican Scott Hutchinson has been re-elected to a fourth term as state senator, representing the 21st District.
He was unopposed in Tuesday's general election.
The 21st District was redrawn in 2022 to include Corry, Elgin Borough and Concord and Wayne townships in Erie County. Those southeastern Erie County voters previously were part of the 50th District, represented by Republican Michele Brooks, of Greenville.
Hutchinson, of Oil City, will begin his fourth term in the state Senate in January. He previously was a member of the state House of Representatives, representing the 64th District from 1992 until 2012, when he was first elected to the Senate.
He also is a former Oil City school director.
Hutchinson chairs the Senate finance committee and is vice chairman of the environmental resources and energy committee. He also is a member of the Senate game and fisheries, health and human services, and local government committees.
The 21st Dist. also includes Warren, Venango, Forest and Clarion counties and part of Butler County.
