All occupants were able to evacuate the home safely. Due to the house being fully engulfed in flames, firefighters used a defensive strategy to contain the fire. The age and location of the structure presented additional challenges for the crews.
The fire was brought under control by 11:27 p.m., and the scene was turned over to the Racine County Fire Investigation Task Force. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
