Retired Metro lieutenant on speakers list at Republican National Convention
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A retired Metro police lieutenant is among the “everyday Americans” scheduled to speak at the 2024 Republican National Convention, July 15-18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Las Vegan Randy Sutton is known as the founder and chairman of The Wounded Blue, an organization formed to improve the lives of injured and disabled law enforcement officers. He served for more than 30 years as an officer, detective and lieutenant for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Biographical information provided by the RNC describes Sutton as “one of the most highly decorated police officers in the Las Vegas Police department history, with awards for valor, community service, and saving multiple lives.”
The convention will provide a platform for Republican nominee former President Donald J. Trump and his vision to Make America Great Again and policies to lift up all Americans.
The list of 24 people who will speak includes veterans, teachers, union members, mothers and others — even the head golf pro at Trump International Golf Club.
The RNC news release announcing the speakers said many of the selected speakers “have faced immense hardship and are worse off under the Biden-Harris administration.”
“The Republican National Convention will provide a platform and voice for the workers, veterans, and families left behind in Joe Biden’s America,” the RNC said. The full list, in alphabetical order:
