Retromania Live kicks off inaugural festival in Branson

BRANSON, Mo. — Eyebolt, Bobby Brown and Members Only are just a few of the new, classic, and cover bands set to rock the Ozarks for the next few days.

James Kelly is the owner of Retromania and had a hand in creating Retromania Live. He’s excited about bringing people to the Ozarks for the next four days.

“I think live music is a that’s kind of what Branson is all about. And I’m trying to bring some really unique things. And here it all started with this concert series,” Kelly said.

Festival-goers who bought the full four-day package won’t just get the festival experience, but also admission to multiple other local attractions in Branson.

“Everything from Silver Dollar City to Wild World to Retromania,” Kelly said. “Fritz’s Ripley’s Believe it or Not, we all teamed up together and created a vacation package.”

Robert Uhrich is a first-time visitor to Branson who drove several hours from Colorado for this weekend’s festival.

“I’ve always been an eighties guy, and I saw this come across the internet. And when I started reading of all the bands, it’s just like it was an instant bucket list,” Uhrich said. “So here I am from Denver, Colorado. I drove 13 and a half hours yesterday.”

Uhrich says the festival has been on his mind for months and is looking forward to seeing bands he grew up with.

“Well, the lineup is just it’s pretty incredible. I mean, it’s just everybody that we grew up with,” Uhrich said. “KC and the Sunshine Band, that was just the time when my buddies and I were 18 years old, and that’s the music that was happening.”

The festival ends Saturday night with a performance by KC and the Sunshine Band. Tickets for each night are still available.
