TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The reward has been increased in an effort to find the fourth inmate who escaped the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on May 27.
Deputies are still searching for 20-year-old Jamarcus Cyprian, who was in jail for armed robbery and weapon charges.
Cyprian, along with 21-year-old Travon Johnson, 19-year-old Omarion Hookfin and 19-Avery Guidry, allegedly escaped from the jail through a perimeter fence while outside during their recreation time on the yard.

On May 31, Hookfin was found and taken into custody. Days earlier, on May 27, Guidry and Johnson were found hiding in a dumpster behind the Dollar General on Pumpkin Center Road and Old Baton Rouge Highway.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief of Operations Jimmy Travis addressed what may have contributed to escapes.

“One was lack of correctional supervision, supervising inmates while they’re in the yard,” Travis explained. “Second, the wire in the yard is weakened through corrosion, and they were able to break some wire on chain link and were able to create a small gap.”
The TPSO is now offering $10,000 to anyone who can provide information on where Cyprian’s location.
