RFK Jr. to address 'path forward' in Phoenix before Trump rally. Will he endorse Trump?

Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will discuss “his path forward” in the presidential race in Phoenix on Friday, one week after his campaign submitted signatures to get on the Arizona ballot.

Kennedy will give his remarks hours before former President Donald Trump holds a rally in Glendale on Friday afternoon. The Kennedy speech also comes after his running mate said that they are weighing whether to “join forces” with Trump.

Independent vice presidential candidate Nicole Shanahan acknowledged worries that Kennedy could act as a spoiler in the 2024 election by pulling votes away from Trump and helping Vice President Kamala Harris win.

“There's two options that we're looking at, and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Walz presidency ... or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump,” Shanahan said during an interview on business podcast Impact Theory.

ABC News reported Wednesday that Kennedy could be out by the end of the week. Citing sources, ABC News said Kennedy "is leaning toward endorsing" Trump.

The Kennedy campaign did not say what he will discuss during the Arizona campaign stop.

“Independent Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will address the nation live on Friday about the present historical moment and his path forward,” the Kennedy campaign said in an email. It’s not yet clear where Kennedy will deliver his remarks.

The campaign will also live stream Kennedy’s remarks on the social media site X.

Kennedy submitted 118,752 signatures to get on the Arizona ballot, according to a filing receipt released by the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office on Wednesday morning.

Fellow independent candidate Cornel West missed the deadline to get on the Arizona ballot last week and will run as a write-in candidate instead, according to his campaign.
