Rochester singer-songwriter Danielle Ponder to perform at New York State Fair in August
International R&B/soul singer and Rochester native Danielle Ponder will be performing at the New York State Fair later this year.
Ponder will take the Chevy Court Stage at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28 during the Fair's "Women's Day," which aims to shine a spotlight on inspiring women.
The performance will be free with admission to the Fair.
“We are delighted to have been able to book Danielle and we got really lucky to be able to get her on Women’s Day. Her message is unifying, uplifting, and empowering,” Interim Fair Director Julie LaFave said. “She has a soulful, powerful voice, and has made a career out of helping people. Add in that she’s a Rochester native, and she’s going to a tremendous addition to our line up at the Fair and on Women’s Day.”
Ponder, who was born and raised in Rochester, began her career as a public defender in Monroe County. Since starting her music career, she has toured across the world and performed at major festivals such as Lollapalooza and on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers.
She also made her acting debut almost a year ago on the ABC soap opera "General Hospital."
In 2022, she released her debut album “Some of us are Brave”.
