What did you miss?

The One Show co-presenter Roman Kemp was well and truly stitched up by his dad Martin Kemp during the latest episode.

At the start of the show airing Thursday, 31 October, Roman and colleague Clara Amfo were halfway through introducing their studio guests when Martin suddenly pulled out a bag of washed clothes to pass over to his son.

BBC One's live coverage then cut back to a disgraced Roman, who could only muster a massive sigh in retaliation before moving on.

What, how and why?

Previewing the evening's material, Roman told The One Show viewers: "Mum and dad... sorry, Martin and Shirley Kemp will be here to reveal why they're teaming up with Alan Carr for a very special makeover programme all in aid of Children in Need."

Then came the Spandau Ballet bassist's big moment.

"Oh Ro, uh, mum's done your washing as well," said Martin, holding up a plastic bag stuffed with clothes without any humour. "I brought it in, you know, save you having to come and get it. I'll leave it in your dressing room."

Impressively, Roman's mum Shirley managed to hold a straight face through the whole thing too.

Staring at her co-star, who bowed his head in embarrassment, a grinning Clara asked: "Well... do they take orders?"
