Roseanne Barr Plays Donald Trump Card, Warning Jimmy Kimmel Alternative Is Mike Pence
Roseanne Barr and John Goodman came to Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show to tout ABC’s Roseanne series reboot and, not surprisingly, talk turned to politics.
Barr being a big Trump supporter, Kimmel reminded her she used to support Hillary Clinton, but became “down on her” and even accused her of being a murderer on Twitter, “didn’t you?”
“I did not!” Barr screeched. “I deleted it!”
But she acknowledged, “I had some disagreement with her foreign policy.”
Because “she had one,” Goodman snarked, largely staying out of the melee.
Barr asked, like she meant it to sting, if Kimmel had supported Clinton during the election.
“Never mind her!” Kimmel shot back, having none of that. “How about the Capt. Whacko we’ve got running the country here?!”
Barr insisted she has not changed over the year, but “you all moved — you all went so f*ckin far out you lost everyone.”
She cautioned Kimmel and his audience against wanting to see Trump fail. “Because we don’t want [Mike] Pence,” which is a pretty effective argument.
“You want Pence for the fr*ckin President? Well then zip that f*ckin lip!” she told Kimmel.
Barr’s iconic sitcom character also has become a Trump supporter on the series. Other family members, not so much. Like in real life, Barr observed, saying one of her daughters began to weep on Election Night, and cried, “this is the end…they’re going to deport all of our gays!”
“I said, ‘Just chill’,” Barr remembered.
“It’s up to us to make this government work, no matter who is president,” she schooled Kimmel’s studio audience.
“Let them know, if you don’t like it, you’ve got another election in two years, and get out and vote. Change it if you don’t like it.”
