Route 90 into Ocean City will be closed for four nights, starting Monday. What to know.

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will perform nighttime pavement patching work on Route 90, the Ocean City Expressway, between Route 50 and 528, beginning Monday.

How work will impact Route 90 into Ocean City

This work will necessitate the closure and detour of both directions of Route 90. All work should be completed by 5 a.m. Thursday, May 23, weather permitting. To minimize impacts on traffic, crews will work overnight, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Thursday.

The travel lanes on Route 90 will be open during the day when work is not taking place. During the work hours, Route 90 will be completely shut down, with the following posted detours in place:

  • From Route 50 East – continue on eastbound Route 50 to Route 378 (Baltimore Avenue) to northbound Route 528 (Philadelphia Avenue/Coastal Highway)

  • From 62nd Street at Route 528 – continue to westbound Route 50.
