Rudy Giuliani booked in Arizona, posts $10K bail in fake electors case; mug shot released

Rudy Giuliani posted bail on Monday in Phoenix, several weeks after being indicted in the Arizona fake electors case and for his role in attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

Giuliani, the former mayor of New York and a personal lawyer to former President Donald Trump, paid a $10,000 cash bond in Maricopa County, the Clerk of the Superior Court for Maricopa County confirmed, as reported by The Arizona Republic, part of the USA TODAY Network.

The embattled Republican is among 18 people charged with nine felony counts in the Grand Canyon State, including conspiracy, forgery and fraud, for allegedly trying to interfere with the 2020 election results on behalf of Trump, insisting, without proof the election was stolen.

After he posted bond, officials released Giuliana's mug shot, which shows him dressed in a black suit, white shirt and tie.

When is Rudy Giuliani's trial?

Giuliani was the last defendant to receive their summons as authorities reportedly had difficulties reaching him. He was served on May 17 after leaving his birthday party in Florida and was the only defendant granted bond.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges May 21 and was required to appear for booking within 30 days.

Giuliani's trial is scheduled to begin in October.

Who is Rudy Giuliani?

Giuliani, once the chief federal prosecutor in Manhattan, joined Trump's legal team in 2018 after being considered as a potential candidate for attorney general during Trump's administration.

Fighting calls to be disbarred, he is appealing a lawsuit in which jurors found he owed $148 million to two Georgia election workers for defamation.

Giuliani led a meeting in Phoenix after the 2020 election planting claims of voter fraud, and met with GOP legislative leaders in Arizona to discuss a gambit to alter the election results.

Giuliani filed for bankruptcy in December, after the defamation lawsuit decision was issued.

Giuliani fired from radio station

Late last week, Giuliani was fired from a talk radio station for continuing to make those claims.

On social media, he denied he made an agreement not to discuss the election on the show and has continued his social media-based evening show.

Rudy Giuliani selling coffee amidst bankruptcy, indictment filings

Amidst his bankruptcy and criminal indictment filings, late last month Giuliani announced he was selling self-branded coffee.

Giuliani posted a video on X promoting the two-pound bags of organic coffee with his photo on it.

Leaning on messages of alleged "truth," Giuliani said customers who buy the coffee will support his causes along with a non-profit for veterans and first-responders.
