Election results: Rutherford Co. Property Assessor, school board incumbents take win

The Rutherford County Election Commission posted the following voting counts from 30 of 30 voting centers reporting in the county primary:

Rob Mitchell, incumbent: 14,068 (66.67%)

Virgil Gammon: 6,969 (33.03%)

Note: GOP winner will face no qualifying competition in Aug. 1 election.

Butch Vaughn: 2,153 (72.69%)

Chase Williams: 801 (27.04%)

Note: GOP winner will face no qualifying competition in Aug. 1 election.

Stan Vaught: 1,840 (66.40%)

Nicholas Rourke: 923 (33.31%)

Note: GOP winner will face independents Robert Brooks and John Duncan in Aug. 1 election

  • Aug. 1: election for county and Murfreesboro offices and primaries for state and federal offices

  • Nov. 5: Election Day for president, and other offices for federal, state, Smyrna, La Vergne and Eagleville governments
