(FOX40.COM) — Friday night’s Rod Wave show at the Golden 1 Center in Downtown Sacramento was postponed after the sound of fireworks was mistaken for gunshots, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Around 9 p.m. SPD officers received reports of a possible shooting in the Downtown Commons area. Because of this, concertgoers were asked to evacuate the area. Video footage shows hundreds of attendees running and taking cover while appearing scared and confused.

“Preliminarily, officers have not located any evidence of a shooting,” SPD said.

Officers said there didn’t appear to be a shooting, however, there was evidence of fireworks. No major injuries were reported and the Rod Wave concert was postponed.

“The safety of our guests and fans is our number one priority,” Golden 1 said in a press release.

The Rod Wave show was initially rescheduled for Saturday, however, at around 1 p.m., Golden 1 announced that the concert would be postponed until further notice.

“Due to no fault of the artist or promoter, Golden 1 Center has had to postpone the Rod Wave Show that was rescheduled for tonight because of staffing issues,” Golden 1 said. “The tour will announce the rescheduled date. All tickets will be honored. Guests seeking refunds can do so at their original point of purchase.”
