Samuel L Jackson’s Scotland-based thriller Damaged is now on Prime Video.

The movie, released in the US earlier this year, follows Dan Lawson (Jackson) – a Chicago detective brought in to investigate a series of murders in Scotland.

The streaming service has now released the movie for subscribers to watch for free.

The movie didn’t land the most positive reviews across the board, currently sitting at a 29% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Guardian called it “an authentic so-bad-it’s-good crime thriller”, adding: “If you’ve ever wondered what a British police procedural television show inexplicably starring this combo of actors would feel like – and why wouldn’t you? – this is the movie for you.”

“Nicely enough turned in all tech and design departments, Damaged is too efficiently handled to be dull, or even overtly bad — though viewers may find themselves rolling their eyes a bit after a while,” added Variety.

Also starring Tenet’s John David Washington, the film follows the Charles family during the Great Depression and their heirloom piano that has designs engraved by enslaved ancestors.

Justice League's Ray Fisher, Till's Danielle Deadwyler, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom's Michael Potts and The Tragedy of Macbeth's Corey Hawkins are also starring.

The powerful first trailer was released last month, with the movie due for release in cinemas and on streaming in November.

Damaged is available to watch now on Prime Video.
