Santa Fe Police search for suspect following deadly shooting outside Best Buy
SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Santa Fe Police are searching for a male individual who they say fled the scene of a deadly shooting outside the Best Buy store at 3533 Zafarano Drive Tuesday morning.

Police said 83-year-old Gordan Peter Wilson was shot in the parking lot of the store. The suspect stole the victim’s 2020 blue Jeep Grand Cherokee with a New Mexico registration plate of CRM142. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived at 10:26 a.m., police added.
Deputy Chief of Police Matthew Champlin said there was no apparent relationship between Wilson and the suspect. “Initial indication are this horrific act appears to be a crime of opportunity by the suspect,” Champlin told KRQE News 13 in an email on Wednesday.
Police described the suspect as being a Hispanic male with a goatee and tattoos on his arms. He may be wearing black jeans, a bright blue shirt with a button-up shirt underneath, and a white baseball cap.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Police are asking people not to approach the male suspect and to call 911 immediately.
