Saturday night fire in Buffalo causes $50K in damage
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A fire that occurred early Saturday night caused an estimated $50,000 in damage to a vacant structure in Buffalo, fire officials announced.
Officials said just after 7 p.m., crews responded to the fire at 37 Miller Ave., a 1 1/2-story wood frame structure.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Saturday night’s fire marks the sixth vacant structure fire that has occurred within a one-mile radius since September of this year. On Nov. 3, 23 Deschler St. caught fire for a second time after a previous blaze in September caused an estimated $180,000 in damage. During the week it caught fire that month, three additional fires occurred within one mile of each other.
The Miller Avenue fire does not appear to be related to the other five fires at this time, a city spokesperson said.
