Sean “Diddy” Combs Files Notice Of Intent To Appeal Bail Ruling
Lawyers representing Sean “Diddy” Combs have once again moved to have the Hip-Hop mogul released from police custody as he faces charges of racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution.
According to CNN, attorneys Anthony Ricco and Alexandra Shapiro, new to Combs’ legal team, submitted a two-page notice of appeal on Monday (Sept. 30) advocating for the 54-year-old to be allowed to await his criminal trial at home. Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, NY, sharing space with FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried and the former president of Honduras.
In the filing, Combs’s lawyers assured that he would comply with terms including a ban on women from entering his home who are not his mother or the mothers of his children, undergoing weekly drug tests, and not meeting anyone considered a witness or “co-conspirator” if his release on bail is granted per The Independent.
According to PEOPLE Magazine on Sunday, Combs was removed from a precautionary suicide watch. A lawyer representing the Harlem native informed the outlet, “He is focused and very strong,” adding, “He is concentrating on his defense and preparing for his trial.” His next hearing is scheduled for Oct. 9, 2024.
Combs was initially arrested on Sept. 16 in New York City. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges mentioned above. In addition to criminal charges, Combs is facing a series of lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault, sexual trafficking, rape, and additional violent actions.
