BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The search begins for a new Southern University Law Center chancellor.
The Southern University System announced its 11-member search committee on Monday, June 24. Search committee members plan to review candidates and expect to name a new chancellor in November.
“That diverse committee we believe is going to be able to help us find the best candidate to lead the law center forward,” Joshua Hollins, search committee co-chair said.
Hollins said the search committee plans to vet each candidate thoroughly before making recommendations to the president.
“The next leader has to be able to understand that we’re serving a population of students that now have doors open to them to be able to sit in the highest ranks of government and leadership,” Angela Bell, SULC professor and committee member said.
