See who has applied to be the next East Baton Rouge Schools superintendent
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Seventeen applicants have applied for the superintendent position in East Baton Rouge Parish.
After Sito Narcisse announced his departure in January, the school board began accepting applications for the position. Applications opened on Monday, June 10.
Adam Smith, who was appointed as interim superintendent, has applied for the superintendent role. Some applicants have past or current experience leading a school district.
Applications have been submitted from educators and leaders across the nation. Some applicants are locally recognized such as Angela Domingue, Kevin George, Bernard Taylor and Nichola Hall.
Standout Students: High school student graduates while running successful business
Domingue worked heavily in the East Baton Rouge School System. She has been a teacher and an assistant principal and has served on the superintendent’s executive leadership team until 2013 when she became an associate superintendent for schools in Maryland. Currently, she is the chief school officer at Helix Community Schools in Baton Rouge.
George has a history of working with the Louisiana Department of Education as the district support deputy network leader. George has been the director at the LSU Lab School since 2021.
Taylor was superintendent for the East Baton Rouge Parish Schools from 2012 to 2015. Taylor is now the acting principal of a special education center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Hall was previously the assistant director for food and nutrition services for a school district in Connecticut. She has been the chief human resources officer for East Baton Rouge since 2021.
