Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa Talk on 'Today'
Selena Gomez announced last month that she had a kidney transplant this summer due to her lupus, and her friend Francia Raisa was her donor. Gomez said in her Instagram post then there would be more coming soon when the two were ready to talk about it. "I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you," she wrote.
That moment comes next week on the Today show. The outlet announced a joint interview with Raisa and Gomez will air on Monday and Tuesday, and teased a one-minute clip from the segment. In it, Gomez talks about the moment she found out she needed a transplant, her hesitancy seeking a donor, and her reaction when she found out that Raisa would give one of her kidneys to her.
"You feel that Francia saved your life?" Savannah Guthrie asks Gomez.
"Because she did. That’s it," Gomez replies.
