Several NYC affordable housing lotteries closing soon: Last chance to apply
NEW YORK (PIX11)—This is your last chance to apply to several affordable housing lotteries in New York City, which will close in the next two weeks.
The lotteries are located in Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn. Here’s where they are:
339 West 38th Street Apartments
Located at: 341 West 38th St. in Manhattan
Income eligibility: $31,612 to $218,010
Available units: 30
This apartment complex is close to many subway lines, including the Nos. 4, 6, D, F, M, N, Q, and R. Amenities include a lounge, outdoor terrace, gym, storage, a 24-hour lobby attendant and two package rooms.
Each apartment comes with a washer and dryer. The cheapest apartment is a studio at $823 a month.
Tenants have to pay for their electricity, but hot water is included. Applications for the lottery end on Aug. 19.
Throop Corners
Located at: 88 Throop Ave. in Brooklyn
Income eligibility: $21,566 to $173,920
Available units: 125
Throop Corners is close to the G, J and M subway lines and the B43, B46 and B48 buses. There are multiple storage areas, laundry rooms, community rooms and a rooftop terrace.
There’s no fee to apply or a broker’s fee. The least expensive apartment is a studio that costs $544 a month.
Applications can be submitted no later than Aug. 20.
Norwood Terrace
Located at: 3349 Webster Ave. in the Bronx
Income eligibility: $31,818 to $115,560
Available units: 7
Norwood Terrace is located near the Nos. 2 and 5 subway lines, the Bronx Zoo, and the New York Botanical Garden. It’s pet friendly and has a laundry room, fitness room, library, roof terrace and courtyard.
Tenants must pay for electric and gas cooking, but heat is included in the rent. Despite only having seven available apartments, Norwood Terrace will also accept applications for future vacancies.
The cheapest apartment in the complex is a one-bedroom that costs $816 a month. Applications for this complex are no longer accepted after Aug. 26.
