Severe weather, street flooding, outages throughout Greater New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Heavy rain throughout the Greater New Orleans region is causing street flooding and power outages in some areas on Thursday, July 18.
Around 1:20 p.m., officials with NOLA Ready announced that neutral ground parking would be allowed until 8 p.m. due to the high chances of flooding within the city.
They are also advising drivers to avoid flooded areas as it is dangerous and can push water into nearby homes and businesses.

Carrollton Underpass
Conti Street / Royal Street
Interstate 10 / S. Galves Street
Ulloa Street / S. Cortez Street
N. Gayoso Street / Bienville Avenue
N. Claiborne Avenue / Laharpe Street
Tulane Avenue / S. Carrollton Avenue
Old Gentilly Road / Parish Road
Officials say if water begins to rise around your vehicle, abandon the car immediately. Residents can report street flooding and emergencies by calling 911.
As of 2:40 p.m., Entergy officials are reporting 927 customers are without power.
