Share your views on possible changes to Sheboygan's Fountain Park during July 10 public meeting

SHEBOYGAN – Community members are encouraged to share ideas on improvements to Fountain Park at a meeting this week.

The city of Sheboygan and Department of Public Works are exploring changes to the downtown park. Potential ideas will be presented by “parkitecture” and planning designers at the meeting.

Parkitecture, a type of architecture influenced by the emergence of national parks, fuses buildings with the natural landscape. According to the National Park Service website, these projects can feature native materials, whole logs and the appearance of being built by hand.

Marina design concept finalized: With a $5.9M deficit at the marina, a new design hopes to propel more parts of Sheboygan’s waterfront

Fountain Park is home to the summer Farmers' Market, a Civil War monument, band shell and fountain.

The meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. July 10 at the Kiwanis Park Fieldhouse, 726 Kiwanis Park Road. Call the Parks and Forestry Division at 920-459-3440 for more information.
