According to a release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 8:38 p.m. for reports of a two-vehicle crash on County Road G near Canary Road in Beaver Dam.

Officials say a 45-year-old man from Palmyra was driving his 2009 Cadillac south on County Road G when he ran off the roadway onto a private driveway and crashed into a parked car before continuing into a yard and coming to a stop after hitting a tree.

Crashing into the tree reportedly caused significant damage to the Cadillac’s front end and the 45-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle parked in the private driveway was unoccupied and no one else was injured in the crash.

Deputies say excessive speed is believed to be a factor and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
